HI EVERYONE!! new york was freaking cool. will post up some picts in a jiffy. initially it was freezing cold, then the weather turned better later and i enjoyed visiting all the iconic places in nyc. been to almost every place in manhattan. company visits were fantastic too. Bloomberg was the best companies i visited in terms of environment, the pantry is like a cafe!!

I miss all of you too, and jh, good thing u cancelled the krispe kreme, cos i really brought back some and it didn't taste really good... and plus the fact that i'll probably meet you guys at a later date, i won't want to poison you.

Yes, time to revert back to local culture. Kopi see kosong!

firstly, hi everyone, hope everyone's enjoying their hols without scary things like projects and quizzes and horror of horrors, profs.

secondly, we shd go catch a movie. just like the good old times of that salahuddin show which i cant rem the title but i do rem the uninspiring line of "let them come!" and edmund (or is it ray)'s idea of throwing bak kwa and kway chap at them. anyone wanna watch pride and prejudice, perhaps love (it has takeshi kaneshiro!!) or chronicles of narnia?

and so the story of jarel plus one continues, with their first foray into unknown land together. the chance of continuing their stories, the forging of deeper friendships, the sharing of 7 days together. it's gonna be one heck of a vacation!!! =D

I know I promised to blog more during this hols but tmd, the last 3 days have been hell for me man. Monday I ran up 39 degrees fever plus diarrhoea, killer combo lah. Simi lan also cannot eat. Today recover come back to work, *JANG JANG JANG!!!* I tio duty for Police Day Parade. With this, I dedicate to you my favourite poem:

Ok enough of that, I must make a quick intro to 2 new albums I just listened to the last week. This first is local singer Corrine May's new album Safe in This Crazy World. Wah I tell you hor, this woman can REALLY sing man. Her voice like can give you an orgasm anytime man. Ok I exaggerate, but seriously man, her voice is really gan pua power lor. If y'all have time watch Chase on channel 5 I think on Thursdays (I think, I dunno, I also never watch). Her song is the main theme for the show. Hurry though, 2 part finale liao. For the girls, there is Utt, and to a lesser extent, Keegan Kang. For the guys, the female lead (dunno the name) is gan pua, and I mean GAN PUA chio. And then there is Corrine May's song. How to go wrong? Those cunning producers...

The seond album I must intro is admittedly downloaded. Boh pian. Worldwide release only on 6.6.2005. But it's COLDPLAY! Coldplay leh! How to wait! So my backside itchy, and after hours of searching, I finally managed to download their new album X and Y. *Sobz* They didn't disappoint after all. This is their 3rd attempt and every song is so so good, oozing with class and panache throughout. And with Chris Martin's voice backed up by amazing guitar riffs and groundbreaking rhythms, how to go wrong? (Aside: prob only JH will understand my anxiety about this) I will still buy the album, just to show I'm a true blue Coldplay supporter, and long may they rock on.

i wanted to type in full chinese with the sounds and all but i gave up after the first sentence la, too waste time haha. Anw first of all, i need to thank all of you (5 of you) for accomodating this additional guest here. Dun worry ok, if u need to have some time alone, pls do let me know, i am perfectly fine with shopping on my own even in overseas if u allow me to recall my experience in Vietnam.but hmm eh dun all the time la, like tat i quite sad!

Anw, just to add, gals, if we are doubtful of LN's taste in fashion wear (which personally i am quite), DUN worry! cuz i manage to find a second opinion, turned out that my japanese classmate is from Chengdu and she just went back, she says she will come back and give up some good recommendations to go - one eg she gave was- Chun1 Xi1 Lv (Road) - like far east pattern place. She also mentioned we can go check out some gay bars - COOL! i want go! and well she says china live bands not bad too.. which hmm although LN said otherwise...

Btw, are we doing sightsee-ing and can we go for massage cuz i think, bl**dy hell, spore spas are too expensive la.

Before I irritate the hell out of Anna, please allow me to change the language to one which does not require your imagination to guess which "sound" it is.

Anyway, in July, standby for hot weather. Sunglasses, sunhats, sun blocks, bring em all out. Berms, t-shirts and slippers should be the preferred attire. For those with a penchant for thick clothing, it is suggested that you leave them behind. According to the latest weather report aka my mother, July will prove to be one of China's hottest months. Fear not though, as much as it is hot, it will not be as humid as right here in Singapore.

The place of abode will be my parent's apartment known as "Jing3 Xiu4 Hua1 Yuan2". The apartment is a cozy one with 2 bedrooms ready for us. It will be a bit cramp, but at least it will be free. I hope y'all will not be too concerned with sleeping on mattresses.

It is recommended we try to go cheap on breakfasts. There is a Carrefour nearby the apartment where we can get dirt cheap roti, milk etc. This is so that we can splurge more on better meals for lunch and dinner. We should however try the tao huey nearby the apartment for breakfast one day. All I can say is pi pi chee chee dua liap nee!

Off my head, a few eating places we should go would be "Qing1 Shan4 Zai1", a place where we will enjoy marvellicious steamboat! We should also try the peking duck there. Y'all will also be amazed by the KFC there which sells this funky chicken wrap which is quite tok gong. We will also be going to my dad's favourite joint called Grandma's Deli where the Peanut Butter Pie is an absolute must try! There will also be dirt cheap jap ala carte buffet, Teppanyaki, and even thai food. For special dietary or taste requirements, exotic or otherwise, please do not hesitate to inform me, and I will try my best to fulfill.

For shopping, trust me when I say you will not regret. Guys, we'll just have to bite our tongues and help the girls carry, but I assure you we can refresh our wardrobes there also. Shoes bags, clothes, sports apparell, it's all there. Of course it's up to you to spot a bargain lah. If y'all are looking for tech stuff (thumbdrives, mp3 players etc), there's this place called "Bai3 Nao3 Hui4", Chengdu's very own Sim Lim Square, on the cheap of course. I got my Teku 2.2GB thumb drive for $150 there. You will may also be sweeping CDs, VCDs, DVDs, off the shelves. If you think Parallel import is cheap, you have seen nothing yet. I am particularly impressed by the TV series' you can get there by the season. CSI, friends, Sex in the City, you name it, they should have - by the entire season some more. I'm not so sure OC is very hot there though. I won't be surprised if we come back all overloaded.

For those who are concerned about Internet access, fear not! My mom's apartment got computer and China's very own interpretation of broadband. Of course, how broad is their band is questionable, but I assure you, you will not feel disconnected.

We should also go bowling and sing KTV. We can bowl until our hands break and sing until our voices are sore coz it's so dirt cheap.

Here's a sitrep from your friendly travel agent. I did a background check. Now, the dates we wanted, there are flights, but there are no longer any available seats. The closest we can secure considering everyone's constraints would be to leave on the 18th. Actually there are seats available on the 14th also, but Ray and Anna got camp right?

The date for our return would lan lan have to be on the 24th (Sorry ed. Unless we wanna leave on 21st, which makes it boh hua.) So we will have 7 days.

It's true that sometimes we can't make it on our own... And I'm glad I have y'all by my side during this torrid sem. So many things happened this few months, and thatnks to y'all I've managed to keep my sanity. We'll be quite disparate this coming hols I can imagine, with me running away from my problems to Gold Coast and Chengdu (my ex has returned to Sg you see), with Ed and Ray gg for YEP... But stay tight people... We're really only in the beginning of this long marathon, and we'll really need each other to pull through...

On a side note... Eh who gg for that stupid Ementor thing on Fri? Piangz, Gillian send email liao, say our community service hours not counted if we dun go... Actually I wrote one entire round but when I click publish cheebye the whole disappeared! Damn microsoft!!!

Anyway I must admit to being guilty of not blogging here. It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks for me, BE, Stageit, school tour, Hubbies for Hire, projects, presentations... Wheeew.... but now it's kinda like the calm after the storm le... Left BGS presentation, but fri should settle liao...

Speaking of BGS... KNN man, I've been getting some unwanted attention... There's this girl in BGS called Nat and recently I've been toking to her on MSN... Also went to watch Jackie Chan and Ladder 49 with her. Then just lidat, CCB, yesterday go out with some BGS ppl, kena tease like mad. I've been called so many things sia... scandal, spare tyre... the latter is becoz she just broke up with her bf... CB like secondary school lidat sia... *pttuuuii*... One word... CHILDISH... Sheesh...

Eh how, wednesday going out mah? Last I heard was dinner and chiong... I dunno whether I can make it for dinner, might be stuck doing lights at Kallang Theatre. But chiong I will sure join y'all... But where?

I think Fri is quite a lesson for all of us eh? The 5 of us (plus Huiying of course) so long nebber come together, but when we do, it was soooo fun! I was just telling Anna that day, might be becoz we hardly have chance to meet, and when we do, we treasure each others' company more that's why. Not that when we dun treasure the company when we meet often, just that absence makes the heart grow fonder, even for friends.

ed> u wanna go different YEPs every yr? u gotta be super rich la.. cos if u go for ur first YEP, it'll be subsidised by SIF but for subsequent YEPs, u'll have to bear the full cost which can amount to $1000+++ per trip unless u are the organiser/facilitator/sth like that. tt's partly the reason why people who went for one YEP dont usually go for their 2nd or 3rd YEP.. the cost is really quite steep, unless u can find another "sponsor".. my first trip was with Rotary Club so i still can make use of SIF if i wanna go next yr or sth.. maybe u all can approach Rotary Club ba..
